FibriCheck: Medically certified detection and monitoring of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias on your smartphone.

FibriCheck: A solution that saves lives

Mobile technology has become an indispensable part of our daily lives. So why not use it to save lives? That is the idea behind FibriCheck, the world’s first medically certified app capable of detecting heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation early on, while also facilitating the management of known AF patients.

How FibriCheck works

FibriCheck uses the smartphone’s built-in camera and flash to measure your heart rhythm through your fingertip. The technology behind this is called PPG or photophletysmogram. How exactly does this work? By lighting your fingertip for 60 seconds with the flash of your smartphone camera and measuring the amount of light that is reflected, the app records the miniscule changes in the amount of blood that flows through the dilating and relaxing capillaries (the very small blood vessels).

FibriCheck & PKB Integration

As a result of this integration, the patient’s data, heart rate, heart rhythm, symptoms and symptom severity can be accessed by the patient as well as by their physician in the PKB environment. Adding another health metric to the patient’s personal health record.
